CIRCULATION SERVICE COUNTER

The Main Counter for Circulation Service (borrowing and returning materials) is located at Level 3 of the ASWARA Main Library. Registration and space reservations inside the library at the Main Counter.

The counter operation hours for borrowing and returning will end 30 minutes before the library’s closing time (in accordance with the applicable operating hour).

Level 3, ASWARA Main Library. Library services will end 30 minutes before the closing time (4:30 PM).

READING AREA

  • Reading Area
    The Leisure Area, which is located at Level 3, provides a space for light reading such as newspapers and also serves as a waiting area. The area is suitable for discussion purposes since the reading areas inside the library do not allow visitors to hold discussions except in the designated discussion rooms. Visitors may also access the Internet via Wi-Fi in this area.
  • Open Reading Area
    An open reading room is provided along the library space on Levels 4 and 5 which is reserved for users to revise and study. This space can accommodate 100 students at a time. However, users are not encouraged to have discussions in this space to avoid disturbing other users.

DISCUSSION ROOM

Located at Level 4, the Discussion Room can accommodate up to 30 users at a time. The room is used for discussions or classes as well as appropriate training sessions. It is equipped with Internet access (Wi-Fi), a lecturer’s desk, and a whiteboard.

Users must apply to use the room by filling out the form provided at least 3 days before the intended date of use. The use of the room is limited to 2 hours only.

AUDIOVISUAL ROOM

An Audiovisual Room is provided at Level 3 with a capacity of 30 people for users to watch audiovisual reference materials and related classes. This room is equipped with a television set and CD player, projector and whiteboard.

The room also houses Media Collections. Reservations must be made online at least 3 days before use.

COMPUTER LAB

The lab is equipped with 6 computers for accessing electronic materials. The computers are preinstalled with basic software for learning purposes. Users can also make reservations to use the computer lab for group work and discussions.

Computer usage time is limited to 1 hour. Users must register at the service counter before using the computers in the lab.

CLOSED ACCESS ROOM

Located at Level 4 of the library, this room houses limited collection materials such as musical notation, P.Ramlee’s script collections and past examination papers. Users must apply to access the materials in this room by filling out the provided form. Materials may not be taken out of the room and users must submit an application to make any copies.
